Well I set up the web page which is http://harrypotterbanned.wetpaint.com/ . I changed the background, I added pictures of the covers of the books and I added music. I also added the six movie trailers from youtube.com. I was adding information about J.K. Rowling. The reasons why people wanted to ban the Harry potter series.

The first thing I noticed after reading Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, was that Harry is extremely humble not only for the 10 years living with his aunt and uncle but also when he find out who he is and why he’s so famous. He still stayed the same humble he once had been. Even when the opportunity is presented to be friends with Draco Malfoy (A boy who only gloats about having pure-blood and about his family history.)Harry refuses to be part of it. He makes friends with people that don’t…

You are going to be able to view this at wetpaint, the link is http://lengleawrinkleintime.wetpaint.com. You should be aware of the two videos that were put into this webpage and how this novel is a great science fiction adventure. Hope you all like the music too. And i wanted to thank all of this cla…

My project was a banned book called one flew over the cuckoo's nest. It is a story of a man who lives a life that’s not considered by all to be normal, he drinks, gambles and has too much sex. He is put in a crazy home so that society can change his behavior but instead he encourages the brain washed patients inside the home to rebel against a suppressive staff. It’s a great book that was made into a movie starring Jack Nicholson and won a lot of awards. You can view my wet paint account that ha…

My project is available for veiwing pleasure at goosebumpsbooks.wetpaint.com . The main focus of my project is a two-minute video about the books and the author. On the page there is also links to my oppinion on banning books and a bibliography. I might as well be honest, my project is awesome. Just go look at it because it needs no introduction, and speaks for itself. I think that everyone who sees it might be inspired to protest in the streets for the freedom of our language. Who knows. I real…

My project is on the book "A Time to Kill" by John Grisham.
I did the wiki - wetpaint and you can access it @ smcmary.wetpaint.com. I was able to add a trailer clip from the movie that was available from its own website. I even ended up renting the movie after reading the book. This story give a small bit of insight of what racism is like. I tried to focus mainly on what the story line was in the book, but added a few facts found on the FBI website as far as cross burnings, hate crimes, and som…

For my solo project I chose to stick with something I already know how to do so I made a website on wetpaint. I named it "Banning Psycho" because I thought it was cute and clever. On my wetpaint site I have a summary of the book and some of the characters. I then talk about why the book was banned. Next I mentioned information about the author, Bret Easton Ellis, and his other novels. Finally I end with a page about the movie, and a page comparing the movie to the book. I also have a future read…

The biggest opposer of American Psycho by Bret Easton Ellis is the National Organization for Women or NOW. They see the book as being misogynistic. I can understand their reasoning for seeing it that way even though the author has said numerous times that he doesn't hate women. In the book, Patrick Bateman sees women as "hardbodies" and that a woman with a good personality and hot looks does not exist. He also murders many woman and then cannibalizes their bodies. At one point he goes so far as…

This book is about a little black girl that was raped by two white men. The girls daddy feels the only way to get vindication and to be the man and daddy that he should be, he needs to kill them.
During the entire book, the focus is really about racism. The lop-sided view of many people, that if you are a different race, especially the black race, that you are nothing. Many times the 'n' word is used while telling the story and felt to be very offensive. For this reason the book is challenged.…

The Ku Klux Klan is called in. There is no way they are going to let this n--- get away with killing two white men in cold blood, no matter what they've done. They're words..."its just a n--- girl, it's not like she really matters." Even though they knew that these boys got what they deserved, they were killed by a black man and no way was he going to get away with that. As disgusting as this crime is, and though this child is just that, a child, it doesn't matter in the racist mind. An animal w…

Little Tonya, the 10 year old that was brutally raped, beaten, and left for dead by two white men, is expected to live. The two men are not. Dad, Carl Lee, has it all planned and awaits in a closet of the court house. When the time is right and the men are in position Carl Lee jumps from his hiding place and blows them away. Unfortunately, he is seen. First by the deputy that is transporting them, and by a maintenance man that works in the court. The most important thing is that the two child ra…

Books of all kinds have been banned, or attempts have been made to ban, for a multitude of reasons. Generally speaking, in the United States, most issues of bannin books revolves around excluding the books from a school or library system because they are (for some reason, by some person or group) deemed "bad."
As a practical matter, in the United States, proposing to ban a book in a particular locale usually results in the book actually being read more in that area than if no effort had been ma…
