You are going to be able to view this at wetpaint, the link is http://lengleawrinkleintime.wetpaint.com. You should be aware of the two videos that were put into this webpage and how this novel is a great science fiction adventure. Hope you all like the music too. And i wanted to thank all of this cla… Continue

I will finish off my last four chapters of the book A Wrinkle in Time with the resolution and go into who and why this book was banned. Once Meg, Calvin and Charles found Mr. Murry everything kind of seems to be going downhill, Charles is captured by IT, and IT is a huge brain that is very controlling, captivating you to be IT’s slave forever. Mr. Murry being behind the complex controls of the Tesseract, he manages to take them to another planet who they find these beasts that help them on their… Continue

In this blog I will be using the rising action of Chapters 4-8 in reflecting on the themes of religion and science fiction. The three witch’s (Mrs. Who, Which, Whatsit) take the three children to a two dimensional world which is not good for humans, causing them pain. Still on the journey to find Mr. Murry the three witches’ show the children “The Black Thing” which is pure evil, which is covering up earth. While doing so the children also learn of the tesseract, which instead of traveling from… Continue

I’m going to be writing about the exposition of the first three chapters of the novel A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L’Engle. The book starts out with a stormy night with a girl named meg in her bedroom that’s in the attic. Meg is a younger girl (she’s kind of a tomboy getting into fights) and she is very frightened by the lighting so heads down stairs to the kitchen where you then meet her little brother Charles Wallace. Charles Wallace is 2 ½ years old but very calm and collected, allot of the… Continue

I have chosen the novel, “A Wrinkle in Time” by Madeleine L'Engle for my solo module three project. There are a few reasons why I had picked this novel, one of them being that it has to do with the future. The future is a very exciting subject to think about, it brings up many questions that are unanswered. Such as, what kind of other advanced technology is there? Is there any other life? Where can time travel really take you? I find myself wondering of what will be of the future and its so mind… Continue

For my group project, Julie and I decided to go with "Brave New World" by Aldous Huxley. For my part, I contributed to the materials needed for the helocopters, half of the soma bottles and the skittles. I have also done some research that was put into the webpage by wet paint. The reserach included who and where was "Brave New World" banned, and the conservial themes. BOth Julie and I put our own thoughts on why we thought this novel should be banned and what we thought of the book itself. I ha… Continue

There are many factors to identify when there are motivated people and organizations to challenge or ban books. Doing some research on these factors, I’ve received from the website About.com article “Banning and Censorship of Children’s Books” by Elizabeth Kennedy that , “ there is four motivating factors: Family Values, Religion, Political Views, and Minority Rights”. From my prior knowledge I agree with the first three most indefinitely, but I’m not so certain on the Minority Rights. Family Va… Continue

Another Theme I have found throughout the novel, Brave New World is sex. The mentioning of sex begins when the bottled embryos becoming children. The centre has the conditioning for all ages and the committee has certain times for the children to play with each other. In which, now a days is a terrible act to see your little boy or girl have sexual relations with one another. It is also known to the people in the centre that , “Everyone belongs to everyone” so, all the civilians have no resistan… Continue

One theme I have found throughout the novel, Brave New World is segregation. This stood out to me because in the Central London Hatchery and Conditioning Centre and the current day in age they have many similarities. As everyone knows there is still racism in American today (African Americans vs. Caucasians vs. Hispanics vs. Asians ect.) to list a few. And it works for everyone, certain groups in certain areas doing their own thing, enjoying themselves. This brings me to the novel of the differe… Continue

Blog #5 Rebirth/Renewal

For my final blog I will choose the one significant topic of Rebirth/Renewal for Lady Chatterley's Lover. I choose this topic because it shows throughout the story how the main character is upset with her current situation and there is obviously something that is going to change. Going through those last few chapters (15-19) I finally see that Connie is now on her way of her new life. Coming from her lost self clouded with others opinions, she then preservers and finds what fulfills her, Mellor’… Continue

Blog Post #4 11-15

Inciting Force is the literary term I have chosen for these chapters, the meaning that an event or character triggers a conflict. This reminds me of how Connie and mellows are becoming closer than ever and that Connie is more rebellious to Clifford. Coming to the point of which Connie and Clifford go out for a stole in the woods, Connie is always discontent with him. Clifford starts to go up the hill with his motored wheelchair which slowly keeps dying on him. Clifford frustrated as hell toots h… Continue

Blog #2 Chapters 3 – 7

Lady Chatterley, Constience, Connie is the Protagonist of the story. You’ll see soon in chapter three that Connie has her first affair with a man called Michaelis who’s from Ireland. A gentle lover she knows, revolting against Clifford in his dislike for him. Connie though self assuring for herself, Clifford still wanted to please her, he burned for her. Being with Clifford almost always grew thin on her. The meeting of Clifford’s friends, Toney, Hammon, and Charles, she thought little of them,… Continue

Blog #1 Chapters 1 and 2

Jumping into the story I had so many possibilities to fit into the story with knowing so little. Knowing already that Connie and Clifford are married and how Connie is more outgoing than Clifford, free spirited as for Clifford he thought everything ridiculous. Showing me the wide range of differences in the two, gives me a hint towards the title of the book, Lady Chatterley’s Lover. The two moved to Wragby a place Connie is totally out of place in, but coincidently Clifford likes , a “soulless,… Continue

Though Connie has conflict with herself thought-out the story she’s still stuck on Clifford. At first she has such good feelings towards Clifford but slowly starts to hate everything about him. Connie still with the keeper, but still unsure what to do with him. So leaves the opposite way of the woods to thing finding herself at John’s well, where there’s the solitude (freedom).
