I’m going to be writing about the exposition of the first three chapters of the novel A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L’Engle. The book starts out with a stormy night with a girl named meg in her bedroom that’s in the attic. Meg is a younger girl (she’s kind of a tomboy getting into fights) and she is very frightened by the lighting so heads down stairs to the kitchen where you then meet her little brother Charles Wallace. Charles Wallace is 2 ½ years old but very calm and collected, allot of the community thinks of him as not so bright because he doesn’t talk much same for Meg. Meg and Charles Wallace also have twin brothers Denneys and Sandy, there’s not much more information on them. Their mother and father are scientists, Father Mr. Murry had been sent out on a mission of some sort by the government but there is no news on where he is now. Mrs. Murry is a strong woman especially when it comes to mentioning Mr.Murry and where he’s at, and she is also a very attractive woman. On that stormy night a lady named Mrs. Whatsit comes knocking on the door, she’s a spooky kinda woman wears layers of clothes and very interested in Charles Wallace. You also get introduced to another character Calvin O’Keefe who Meg and Charles meet by the haunted house, where Mrs. Whatsit lives with her two friends Mrs. Who and Mrs. Which. The setting seems to be in some farm town because it states that they have to walk a couple miles to different places.
