Banned Books and Censorship

I am a good portion of the way through the book American Psycho by Bret Easton Ellis. So far in the book I have met the main character, Patrick Bateman. The most obvious element in the book is the author's use of imagery. Many scenes have been so descriptive that I have to put the book down. Patrick Bateman is the one telling the story and since he is the killer he gets very detailed about the killing. He also goes into great deal about the threesomes he has with two lady prostitutes. The most annoying detail he goes into is when he talks about whtat everyone is wearing. It is part of his OCD type personality but as someone who doesn't care about fashion it makes it very boring. It is very amusing to read what he says to his friends and how they just totally ignore his psychopathic babble. As distrubing as the details of the killings are, I look forward to seeing how the book ends and how the movie compares.
