The Ku Klux Klan is called in. There is no way they are going to let this n--- get away with killing two white men in cold blood, no matter what they've done. They're words..."its just a n--- girl, it's not like she really matters." Even though they knew that these boys got what they deserved, they were killed by a black man and no way was he going to get away with that. As disgusting as this crime is, and though this child is just that, a child, it doesn't matter in the racist mind. An animal would have been treated better.
A burning cross is planted in Jake's front yard. The police are called with a tip and go to the attorney's home to investigate. How far will this go? The "Kluxers" have a reputation. They will not stop with just burning crosses. This is just a warning, the violence will escalate. More people may be seriously hurt, or worse.
