Journal 16 - Final post
My project is on the book "A Time to Kill" by John Grisham.
I did the wiki - wetpaint and you can access it @ smcmary.wetpaint.com. I was able to add a trailer clip from the movie that was available from its own website. I even ended up renting the movie after reading the book. This story give a small bit of insight of what racism is like. I tried to focus mainly on what the story line was in the book, but added a few facts found on the FBI website as far as cross burnings, hate crimes, and some other statistics.
I hope that you will enjoy it, and that it can even encourage you to stand up against racism of all kinds. I am not sure that it will ever be abolished, there is too much hate in the world. But it can start one person at a time. It can start with me, and it can start with you. When we look at the person as a person I think that the perspective becomes clear, instead of making a judgment just because of the color of their skin, the religion they believe in, or where they were born. People are people. We are made under one God. Its too bad we don't remember first: Love Him, second: Love one another.
